In July this year, representatives from 195 countries gathered at the 54th Session of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to review the world’s most comprehensive assessment of our climate – the Sixth Assessment Report. IPCC reports have historically underpinned global climate action and influenced the decisions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

EPEE calls for more ambitious cooling efficiency targets

The European Partnership for Energy & the Environment (EPEE) has welcomed the increased headline targets in the European Commission’s ‘Fit for 55’ legislative package published, but calls for more ambitious policies on heating and cooling efficiency.

The European Commission’s package of proposals are designed to make the EU’s climate, energy, land use, transport and taxation policies fit for reducing net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030, compared to 1990 levels.
