Aiming for introduction in life science and biotechnology R&D fields Hoshizaki, a comprehensive food service equipment manufacturer, is making a new entry into the domestic medical cold storage market.

Hoshizaki sales companies will release two models of large medical coolers from early November.
The refrigerant used is the natural refrigerant isobutane, which is not a human-made substance, but a substance that originally existed in nature. It is a CFC-free refrigerant that does not destroy the ozone layer and has a small impact on global warming. Since it does not use CFC substitutes, there is no need for simple CFC inspections or reporting in the event of a leak, which can also be expected to reduce the burden on the installation site.
Temperatures of 2°C to 8°C (stable cooling performance when set at 5°C) are required for chemical storage. “For new products for new markets, we conducted temperature measurement tests and improvements at 36 locations inside the refrigerator during development”, said the company. Accurate temperature control has been achieved by overlapping the temperature range. The temperature range can be set from 2°C to 14°C, and the temperature setting can be changed as necessary.
