It is with deep regret that we must inform you that Clive passed away, Monday 15 January 2024, at the age of 92.
Our father was a very lucky individual, and he always stated that the reason for all of his luck, was that he was born on Friday the 13th. He spent his whole life in the industry and is possibly well-known for his latter years with Refrigeration Equipment (Reco).
We believe that he was well known and well liked.
We all spent a lot of time at Reco, especially during school holidays and weekends. Thus, we met all his colleagues, customers and friends – most of whom are not around anymore. To name a few: Piet van Zyl, Eddie Spolander, Jonathan Hogg, Andy van Staden, Pam, Johnny, Reg, Lionel, Dereck Sayers, Hans, Milly, Billy Prestige, Paddy Furlong, Peter Harvey and Donald Christie.
His friends and customers would frequent the pub. The latter was operated after working hours Monday to Friday and Saturday afternoon, free of charge.
We would like to believe that many individual careers were positively influenced by our father.
Our mom, Amy, passed away on 11 September 2021, with our parents having celebrated 66 years of marriage.
Clive leaves two daughters, two sons, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Rest in peace, Dad!
